About UsSounds of the Seacoast was founded in 1979 as the Harbor Belles by Jim Dodge, a long-time barbershopper from Dover, NH (and father of Wendy McCoole our Director). In keeping with the style of barbershop music (unaccompanied, four-part a cappella harmony), Sounds of the Seacoast enjoys singing and performing a variety of music including standards, pop tunes, gospel songs and selections for the holidays.
We put on two big shows every year - one in spring and our annual Holly Jolly Cabaret in December. Sounds of the Seacoast also enjoys traveling to and competing as a member of Harmony, Inc. twice a year -- our Area competition also in the spring and the International competition in the fall. But we're not just about competition (although that helps us to be better singers and performers). We also LOVE singing in the community! Sounds of the Seacoast rehearses every Monday night at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Newington and we welcome new members throughout the year.
